Product Description:

Catgut is a biologic absorbable suture obtained from sheep gut submucosa. Its threads are treated whit chromic salts to prolong the absorption time of the suture. Catgut is absorbed by the enzymatic reaction (phagocytosis). A tissue reaction may be observed before organic materials are completely absorbed.

Chromic Catgut Cassette Suture

Catgut is a biologic absorbable suture obtained from sheep gut submucosa.

Its threads are treated whit chromic salts to prolong the absorption time of the suture.

Catgut is absorbed by the enzymatic reaction (phagocytosis).

A tissue reaction may be observed before organic materials are completely absorbed.

Complete mass absorption is approximately in 70 days.

The thread keeps its tensile strength between 14 and 21 days.

Chromic catgut cassette suture is sterilized by gamma radiation and is available in brown color.

Plain Catgut Cassette Suture

Manufactured from uniform, twisted strands of collagen.

Packaged in a hydrating fluidcontaining isopropanol and water.

Origin - purified animal intestines (sheep/bovine).

Type - absorbable by enzymatic digestion.

Uses - plain catgut sutures are intended for use where an absorbable suture or ligament is indicated.

Colour: Light Brown

Sterilised in Gamma irradiation.

Application:

1. Artificial synthetic absorbable thread is safe, effective, low tissue reaction and good wound healing.
