Working principle
The belt conveyor is mainly composed of two end rollers and a closed conveyor belt tightly sleeved on it . The roller that drives the conveyor belt to rotate is called the drive roller (drive roller); the other roller that only changes the direction of the conveyor belt is called the redirecting roller. The driving roller is driven by the motor through the reducer, and the conveyor belt is driven by the friction between the driving roller and the conveyor belt. The driving drum is generally installed at the discharge end to increase the traction and facilitate dragging. The material is fed from the feeding end and falls on the rotating conveyor belt, which is transported to the discharge end by the friction of the conveyor belt and discharged.

The first is that it runs reliably. Belt conveyors are used in many important production units that require continuous operation, such as the transportation of coal in power plants, the transportation of bulk materials in steel and cement plants, and the loading and unloading of ships in ports. Such as downtime on these occasions, the loss is huge. When necessary, the belt conveyor can work continuously one shift after another.
The power consumption of the belt conveyor is low. Because there is almost no relative movement between the material and the conveyor belt, not only the running resistance is small (about 1 / 3-1 / 5 of the scraper conveyor), but also the wear and breakage of the cargo are small, and the productivity is high. These are conducive to reducing production costs.
The conveyor line of the belt conveyor is strong and flexible. The line length depends on the needs. The short is a few meters, and the length can reach more than 10km. It can be installed in a small tunnel, or it can be set up above the ground traffic chaos and dangerous areas.
According to the requirements of the technological process, the belt conveyor can receive materials from one or more points very flexibly. It can also discharge to multiple points or sections. When feeding material to the conveyor belt at several points at the same time (such as the conveyor under the coal bunker of the coal preparation plant) or at any point along the length of the belt conveyor, the material is fed to the conveyor belt through the uniform feeding equipment. The machine becomes a main transmission line.
The belt conveyor can take the material from the tunnel under the material pile of the coal storage yard, and can mix different materials of each pile when needed. The material can be simply discharged from the head of the conveyor, or it can be discharged at any point along the length of the conveyor belt through a plow unloader or a mobile unloading truck.
