Operation instruction of Rock Elastic modulus
1. Sample preparation
a. The sample shall be neat cylinderical specimen, diameter about 50mm, height/diameter ratio is 2.0～3.0,
b. Sample number: in each group shall less than 3pcs, take the average value as the unaxial compressive strength
c.Sample processing accuracy: end surface flatness <0.02mm, verticality <0.057degree,
d.Sample moisture: the specimen valid period is 30days, try to keep natural moisture content.
2. Sample description
Check the rock name and coding before test, record the color, particle, Texture, Joint, crack, Weathering degree, moisture content status.
3. Check the processing accuracy, measure the sample size
The processing accuracy shall be inspected by specialized level test bench,
4. Specimen loading
Start the compression testing machine, place the specimen on the center of bear plate, let the sample uniformly stressed by load rate 0.5～1MPa till the sample is broken, record the break pressure, and describe the broken specimen
Data processing
Draw the complete stress-strain curve
Calculate the elastic modulus E
