     There are many types of hanger mold gates, but no matter what form of mold gate is used, its opening position has a great impact on the molding performance and molding quality of the plastic part, which virtually increases the requirements for the hanger mold designer. Reasonably selecting the opening position of the mold gate is an important design link to improve the quality of plastic parts. When selecting the gate position of the mold, the geometrical characteristics and technical requirements of plastic manufacturing should be analyzed to analyze the flow state, filling conditions and exhaust conditions of the molten plastic in the mold. The mold gate should be opened at the thickest section of the plastic part. When the wall thickness of the plastic part is greatly different, if the mold gate is opened at a thin wall, this is not only the flow resistance of the plastic melt after it enters the cavity, but also it is easy to cool and affect the flow distance of the melt. Make sure to fill the entire cavity. The wall thickness of the plastic part is often the place where the melt solidifies at the latest. If the gate is opened at a thin wall, the wall thickness will form a surface depression or shrinkage due to the shrinkage of the plastic melt.

The size and position of the mold gate should be selected to avoid spraying and creep. If a small mold gate is facing a cavity with a large width and thickness, when the high-speed stream passes through the gate, due to the high shear stress, it will produce melt fracture phenomena such as spray and creep. Sometimes the phenomenon of spraying can also cause corrugated flow marks on plastic parts. The selection of the gate position of the mold should make the plastic flow the shortest and the direction of the material flow change the least, which should be conducive to the exhaust of gas in the cavity.
