Air caster rigging system summary

Air caster is a pneumatic lifting device used to move heavy loads on flat, non-porous surfaces. Its operation is similar to a hovercraft, in that it uses a thin layer of air as a way to float a very small distance off the ground.

Air load skates made of a flexible membrane, operated with compressed air, a thin film of air between the floor surface and the air caster is created by a controlled air leak, so there is practically no friction and it makes it possible to move heavy loads with relatively low force.
