Neodymium Magnets (Nd-Fe-B) Overview

Neodymium Magnets (Neodymium Iron Boron Magnets), also known as NdFeB, NIB, or Neo magnets, are the most widely-used type of rare-earth magnet. It is the strongest type of permanent magnet made from an alloy of Neodymium, Iron, and Boron with the Nd2Fe14B tetragonal crystalline structure. It has replaced other types of magnets in many applications in modern products that require strong permanent magnets, such as motors in cordless tools, hard disk drives, and magnetic fasteners.

Use of sintered Neodymium magnets, either as an individual magnet or in an assembly, without license is prohibited by the Patent Law of CHINA. All sintered Neodymium Iron Boron magnets supplied by Jamag Magnets Company are licensed.

  • Prone to oxidation, plating (Ni-Cu-Ni) is recommended
  • Some particular grades of JAMAG Magnets can achieve 446F/230C, the max working temperature.
  • Saturation magnetizing field required - about 35kOe
  • Machining - Neodymium magnets should be machined by grinding using diamond wheels, however, of hard magnet materials, Neo magnets are the easiest ones. We can successfully machine very small magnets with tolerances up to +/-.001".
