Wonius
Wonius is a brand belonging to Boerdi Commercial Trade Company. The brand's distinctive characteristic is that all products under it contain RPET material. The idea is to promote environment protection and save resources.
What is RPET?
PET, formally called polyethylene glycol terephthalate, is a kind of line-type saturation polyester resin. The PET material is characterized by high transparency, a capacity for stretching and its ability to insolate well. It has become the mainstream packaging material for all kinds of foods, drinks, edible oils, chemical products and medical products. It has replaced glass packaging in a number of industries.
Recycled PET is the reprocessing of waste PET bottles (such as Coca Cola plastic bottles) to produce recycled PET filament, short fiber or RPET flake. These materials can be manufactured into various types of fabrics and plastic products.
How is RPET used?
RPET is widely used in all kinds of products. The cloth made from RPET can be used to make garments, caps/hats, tents, umbrellas, carpets, footballs, curtains, furniture, flooring and more. RPET can also be used for packaging materials, building materials, and shoe materials. The PET flakes can be used in plastic products, such as cups, chairs and glasses.
Is RPET safe?
The RPET products from Boerdi have passed a series of third party audit inspections. The whole production process, from recycled bottles to smashed chips to yarn to final products, was audited by ITS or SCS. The reprocessed plastics, which are food grade recycled PET flakes, are inspected by the FDA.
Boerdi strictly controls the authenticity of the recycled material for RPET, the hygiene of the production process and the quality of the final product.
Why is RPET significant?
It takes 450 years for a PET bottle to degrade under the ground and 1 kg of PET bottle consumes 0.8 liters of crude oil. The excessive use of PET bottles has caused serious damage to our environment and our resources.
Today, recycling is the most common method used to reduce carbon emission. The method of recycling PET bottles into PET fiber is widely used in the textile industry. Recycling a one-liter PET bottle reduces 0.042 kg of CO2 emission. Every 20 PET bottles recycled can be made into a summer T-shirt.
The large use of coal and petroleum by different countries has produced huge amounts of CO2, which led to the average global temperature increase of more than 1.5 degrees Celsius. Global warming is becoming more and more serious. Some icebergs in the North Pole have melted, the sea level has increased, the rain forests are damaged, the lives of humans are being threatened by new crises. So, "Save Energy and Reduce Carbon Emission" has become an important topic for the different countries around the world and they are actively seeking ways to improve the current situation.
