Active Ingredient:
The drug contains gastrodin,vanillyalcohol, vanillin, p-hydroxybenzadehyde, 3,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde, palmitic acid
Pharmacology Actions:
The aqueous extract or vanillyl alcohol elicited marked decrease of the spontaneous activity and prolongation of sleep in mice by IP. Its extract markedly anta- gonized pentyleneretrazole-induced clonic con- vulsion in mice by IP. Its injection signifi- cantly increased blood flow and reduced peri- pheral vascular and coronary resistance in mice by IV.The LD50 of its extract in mice was 51.4- 61.4g/kg IP.
Actions and Indications:
The drug is used to subdue liver-wind; for the treatment of head- ache, dizziness and numbness of the limbs, infantile convulsion, epilepsy.
