The instrument is specially designed for measuring the slant angle and the azimuth angle of a borehole which should be uncased and free from any magnetic disturbance. These two parameters to be measured are the requisite information to control the direction of drilling in order to avoid any accident in the course of drilling. In case of directional drilling, to control the drilling direction and the inclination of the borehole is particularly important. Azimuth angle of a borehole is the angle between the magnetic north and the projection line of the borehole on the horizontal plane. The reading should be counted from the magnetic north in the clockwise direction to the line of projection of the borehole.
Slant angle is the angle between the borehole and the plumb line.

2. Measuring range of slant angle: 0°～50°
Each division represents 30’
Measuring error: not greater than ±30’
3. Azimuth angle can be measured at slant angle of 2°
Each division represents 5°
Measuring error not greater than ±4°
4. Max. fluid pressure the down hole probe can withstand in the borehole: 500kg/cm2
5. Max. allowable working temperature for the down hole probe: 100℃
Working temperature for the surface console: -20°～+50°
