BMU Lithium Ion Batteries, LiFePO4 Battery Management System / Units
Description:
The battery management system is comprised of master module (BMU), slave module (PCBA), battery
modules, contactor and LCD (optional). Up to 128 modules can be connected in series and parallel to build
a whole system. The whole system voltage can reach 700V at most.
Main Feature
Beside the basic functions such as over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, over-heat and balancing,
O’CELL BMS owns the following features.
1. Master-Slave architecture makes the system flexible.

3. CAN2.0 and industrial level electronic components makes system reliable.
4. Contactor makes high rate charging and discharging feasible.
5. Periodic insulation measurement makes personnel safer .

Main Function
1. Measure the voltage of the battery in series and the whole system.
2. Detect the charge/discharge current of battery system.
3. Calculate the battery system\'s SOC.
4. Measure the insulation of battery system.
5. Control the temperature of battery system.
6. Communicate with host or LCD screen.
7. Communicate with charger.
8. Record the operation and failure data .
9. Data storage and monitoring by PC.
Applications:
1. Eco battery power system for light electric vehicle, HEV, EV, etc.
2. Energy storage system for solar, wind or solar-wind system, etc.
3. Backup power system for telecom base station, communication equipments, power grid, banks, UPS, etc.

Charge Disconnect |

Discharge Interrupt |
When the batteries are discharged to the under-voltage protection point, BMU will attempt to alert the host to inhibit discharge. If discharge continues beyond this warning, the BMU will request that the main contactor open or can open it itself. |

Insulation measurement |
The BMU will check to make sure the battery module is sufficiently isolated from the chassis before and after the main contactor is closed. |

Pre-charge circuit |
To limit the inrush current into the systems capacitors, a pre-charge resistor is connected to B+ before the main contactor is closed. This also prevents arcing and pitting across the contact tips. The BMU will close an auxiliary contactor to place a resistor in line with B+. After 2 seconds, the main line contactor will close. |
