Description:
1. They are, therefore, used widely for machine tools, industrial robots, electronic devices, and OA equipment.As studs already have threads or steps, they are easy to mount.
Cam Followers are follower bearings for cam mechanisms and linear motions and have high rigidity and high accuracy.
2. These bearings, which contain a full complement of needle rollers, are available in two basic designs: With an inner ring for straddle mounting in a yoke or with an integral stud for cantilever mounting. A screwdriver slot or hexagonal wrench socket in the head of the stud facilitates mounting. Sealed designs with internal thrust washers help extend service life under conditions of infrequent relubrication. These bearings are designed for outer ring rotation, and have superior rotational performance with a small coefficient of friction. Also, they are designed to have minimal radial internal clearance to increase the loading zone, and thus reduce the effect of shock loads and ensure stable long life.
3. Cam followers are characterized by their thick-walled outer rings which run directly on a track. The thick outer rings permit high load-carrying capability while minimizing distortion and bending stresses.
Applications:
Rollers with cylindrical outer surface can be supplied on request.Pivot with threaded shank, one guide border of rollers obtained entirely and tempered rolling raceway.Outer ring with double border of the rollers obtained entirely on the outer ring and accurately grinded to allow the roller to bear loads with axial components. The ring is usually cambered on the outer part, in order to improve working condition with heavy loads and to prevent the concentration of load onto side bands of the raceway.
Competitive Advantage:
1. Cam followers are available in three different internal designs. Generally, the cam followers have concentric seating on the pin, but some are also available with an eccentric collar shrunk on to the stud. Cam follower bearings with collar enable an optimum interaction with the cam and allow less stringent manufacturing tolerances for the components.
2. Internal Clearance - The cam followers are produced with a radial internal clearance, which corresponds to the ones, specified for needle roller bearings and cylindrical roller bearings. Cages - The cages of cam followers are made of steel.
3. Load Carrying Ability - The outer ring of a cam follower has only a small contact area with the surface. The actual contact area depends on the load and the crowning. The deformation of the outer ring caused by this limited contact alters the force distribution in the bearing and thus has an influence on load carrying ability. Cam followers are used for radial loads. If axial loads act on the outer ring they will produce tilting moments in the cam roller.
