Carbon fiber first began serving a growing range of applications in industries such as aerospace and sports. Carbon fiber is a type of fiber made almost entirely from carbon. It’s mixed with materials like metal, plastic or ceramic to create a composite. The carbon fiber is manufactured by PAN (polyacrylonitrile)-based raw material, it offers lightness and strength significantly superior to conventional materials, combined with excellent processability and electrical conductivity.
(1)Mechanical properties: Lower density than metal, with higher tensile strength and elastic modulus. Outstanding fatigue, wear and frictional properties;
(2) Thermal properties: Low coefficient of thermal expansion and outstanding dimensional stability. Minimal deterioration inn mechanical properties at elevated temperatures, and low thermal conductivity at ultra-low temperatures.
(3)Electrical and electromagnetic properties: Electrical conductivity provides electromagnetic shielding effect, with excellent transparency to X-ray.
(4)Chemical properties: Excellent chemical stability, with outstanding resistance to acids, alkalis and various solvents
