It can be divided into SmCo5 and Sm2Co17 by the different components. Because its raw material is very scarce, the price is expensive, its development is limited. As the second generation of rare earth permanent magnet, it not only has high energy product (14-28 MGOe) and reliable coercive force, but also has good temperature characteristic. Compared with NdFeB, Sm cobalt is more suitable for working in the environment of high temperature.
