The gabion network is hexagonal mesh woven with metal wire, and the diameters of the used metal wires are different along with different sizes of the hexagons. If the metal wire hexagons are galvanized, the wire diameter is 2.0 to 4.0mm, and if the hexagonal mesh is woven by PVC coated metal wires, the external diameter of the PVC (metal) wires is 3.0 to 4.5mm. The wires for edges are heavier.
