ZRIND API 6D Gate Valves are designed to have:
An obturator that moves in a plane perpendicular to the direction of the flow. The Gate can be constructed of one piece for Slab Control Valves or of two or more pieces for Expanding Control Valve

ZRIND API 6D are used in Oil and Gas Pipelines in Refineries, Petrochemical and Chemical Plants
API 6D Control Valves are used extensively in industry, because are versatile, can be used with pressures up to 900 psi and temperatures from 120 to 250°C (for expanding gates), easy to repair, can be operated manually or with an actuator
The principle of operation is: when the pressure is acting on the gate, an axial side load, perpendicular to the axis of the control valves is generated and this is absorbed by the stem
Two independent floating seat rings assure bidirectional tightness of the control valve. The control valve seats are carefully designed to minimize the thrust required to operate the control valve
Manually operated control valves can be closed quickly and there is a danger of having water hammer. API 6D Control Valves can be equipped with gear operator or pneumatic or electric motor actuator
