[FUNCTION]:
The flavonoid baicalin inhibits superantigen-induced inflammatory cytokines and chemokines.
1) It has antioxidant activity so it has anti-inflammatory effects, anti-HIV activity, apoptosis induction and inhibition of colon aberrant crypts.
2) It also has functions on inhibition of cancer cell proliferation; Protecting bone marrow, promoting hemopoiesis, and protecting the intestines from adverse chemotherapy effects. It has the remarkable biological activities, such as the antibacterial, diuresis, anti-inflammation, anti-metamorphosis and the spasmolysis function. It has the physiological performance of stronger anti-cancer response, as well as anti-inflammation, anti-hypersensitivity, anti-bacterial effect, diuretics, cholagogue, and anti-pyretic.
