Product Description
Polyimide heater uses polyimide polymer. This material, in film form, offers many design features such as excellent dielectric strength in very thin cross sections (3,000 volts per mil).We offers etched foil heaters insulated in polyimide polymer with two different bonding systems, FEP and acrylic bonds. The FEP has a temperature capability of up to 500°F and the acrylic is capable of temperatures of 250°F. Polyimide heaters offer many design opportunities and can be combined in assemblies along with sensors, wiring harnesses and connectors to provide our customers with assemblies ready to install in their equipment.Polyimide heaters can be installed with pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA). They can also be FEP or acrylic bonded directly to heat sinks at the factory. This proprietaryprocess installation offers excellent bonding and good heat transfer capability.
Overview
Polyimide is a thin, semitransparent material with excellent dielectric strength. Polyimide Thermofoil. heaters are ideal for applications with space and weight limitations, or where the heater will be exposed to vacuum, oil, or chemicals.

- Suitable for vacuum environments (NASA-RP-1061)
- NASA approved materials for space applications (S-311-P-079)
- Resistant to most chemicals: acids and solvents
- Radiation resistant to 106 rads if built with polyimideinsulated leadwire (custom option)
- Very small sizes available
- Fluid immersible designs available (not standard)
