Spherical Roller Bearings are designed to work in applications where severe misalignment exists whether from mounting or shaft deflection and with relatively heavy radial loads and some axial loads in either direction. Spherical Roller Bearings are designed to be more robust by carry heavier loads but at lower maximum speeds. These bearings have barrel-shaped rollers between the inner ring, which has two raceways, and the outer ring which has one spherical raceway. 

Spherical Roller Bearings are commonly used in agricultural machines such as combined harvesting machine, air-blower, paper-machine, textile machine, woodworking machinery, overhead crane moving wheel and driving shaft as well as a large number of non agricultural applications.
Spherical Roller Bearings are non - separable double - row radial bearings.
Both rows of barrel shaped rollers rotate, in parallel, within the spherical outer ring. This allows excellent alignment compensation, caused by machining and mounting errors, between the shaft and housing.
Spherical roller bearings are typical bearings for heavy machinery and mining.
They are suitable for applications with large radial loads to or where larger misalignments may occur. They are also able to support minor axial forces in both directions.
Due to their poor kinematic behaviours, spherical roller bearings are only suitable for operating at low to medium speeds.
