Spherical concave mirrors have a curved surface with a center of curvature equidistant from every point on the mirror\'\'s surface. An object beyond the center of curvature forms a real and inverted image between the focal point and the center of curvature. They provide an economical alternative where chromatic aberration no longer is an issue. The trade-off comes in that these are used off-axis introducing other aberrations, but as long as angles are kept reasonable small, these mirrors can provide an effective solution. The actual reflecting surface is usually a thin coating of silver, aluminum, or other material. They may be fashioned from a number of materials, including BK7 glass, copper, fused silica, UV grade fused silica, nickel, and optical crown glass. We especially specialize in production of medium to large-size series of custom mirrors with exacting tolerances, high grade surface finish and difficult coatings. Surface accuracy is verified on the Zygo interferometer or Wyko interferometer.
