The starting materials are quartz sand and petroleum coke, using very strict purity requirements. Features: 1) Diameters: 4 - 14mm 2) Colors: white, almost colorless 3) Neatness defects: VVS, luster, fire and brightness are better than ones of diamond 4) Density: 3.2g/cm³ 5) Hardness in Mohs: 9.25 6) Refractive index: 2.62 - 2.74 7) Reflectivity: 20.5 8) Diopter: 0.104 9) Test by machine of heat conduction: send out "di" sound to assume the diamond response 10) Thermal shock resistance: exceptionally good because of high thermal conductibility and low thermal dilatation of the SiC pre-shaped forms 11) Highly stable material: resists all acids; and decomposes when in contact with bases
