The DuraPro blade is made from Ultra High Molecular Weight Poly-ethylene (UHMWPE) and is used as a wiping blade primarily for line work. This blade is the most abrasion-resistant blade available, making it the blade of choice for highly abrasive media. It does not absorb water, is resistant to most solvents, but can be sen-sitive to some aggressive toluene-based blends. The DuraPro blade is used in many corrugated printing plants due to the abrasive nature of the paper fibers and because of time consuming blade changes. Using this durable blade also decreases costly down-time. The main markets for the DuraPro doctor blade are corrugated, envelope, flexible packaging and coating applications.
