INTRODUCTION
Terminalia has been evaluated to a limited extent for its cardiovascular properties as well as for its role in cancer therapy. Hepatoprotective, cholesterol-reducing, and antioxidant effects have been described. However, there is limited clinical information is too limited to recommend Terminalia for any use.
In traditional Ayurvedic medicine, Terminalia arjuna has been used to balance the three “humors”: kapha, pitta, and vata. It has also been used for asthma, bile duct disorders, scorpion stings, and poisonings.
USES
- It is used to treat flatulence, dysentery, diarrhea and constipation.
- Helps to relieve respiratory disorders such as cough and bronchial asthma.
- It is is one of the three key ingredients in Triphala, a natural compound that provides overall support for digestive function.
- Also used to treat gastrointestinal and respiratory disorders.
- Reduces lipid deposits in the blood and Liver.
- It is very effective in piles, fistula and any other anorectal diseases.
- Used in all sorts of eye disorders- inflammation, conjunctivitis.
