Product Introduction

Tingsha Cymbal are musical instruments used traditionally for singing, chanting, ritual offerings & ceromonies by Hindu and Buddhists religion. Nowadays Tingsha are used to prepare for meditation, healing, space clearing and sound therapy treatment. When the two pieces strike each other they produce a clear, pure, cleansing sound which can be used to focus the mind before and after meditation. They are mostly used in gompa or monasteries by Tibetan buddhist for ritual ceromonies and offerings.

We produce various size range of Tingsha Cymbal made from bronze and seven metal composition. In Tingsha Cymbal various designs are made such as hand carvings, itching and engraving of Tibetan mantra Om Mani Padme Hum, 8 Auspicious Goodl Luck Symbols, Dragon, Mandala etc are made to reflect ritual and dharma.

Using Tingsha Cymbals
Using tingsha bells is more than just making sounds with metal. There is another level involved, one of heart and mind. Originating in Tibet, tingsha bells find use in various meditative and other Buddhist practices. Despite the name, they are more like cymbals than bells, since they lack a clapper. They actually predate Buddhism, having first appeared in shamanistic practices. One benefit of this is that they are actually very simple to use, so almost anyone can learn to use them quickly. They make a great addition to a wide range of religious and meditative practices. Just ring the bells and clear your mind.

A set of tingsha bells consists of two small metal cymbals with a leather cord between them. Tibetan symbols surround the bell on the upper side, and the cord goes through the raised area in the middle. To use them, you grip the bells by the cord in both hands, just above the cymbals themselves. Being sure to hold the cord firmly with your fingertips so that it does not slip, you strike the edges of the tingsha together once. This produces the distinctive sound of the tingsha. Continue holding until the vibrations and associated sound cease completely. However, the real use of tingsha bells is not simply to produce sound, it is about what you do with that sound. Some of the most common uses include space clearing and toning.

Space Clearing With Tingsha Cymbals
One of the most common uses of tingsha bells is a practice known as space clearing. Commonly associated with the Chinese practice of feng shui, space clearing is a practice used to remove emotional baggage from an area. The theory is that everything from normal daily living to major emotional upheavals creates a sort of energetic residue in a room or space. Space clearing, which one can accomplish in a number of ways, clears out that residue to create an emotionally neutral space.

While some may use sage in a brazier to smudge the space to clear it, tingsha bells or an energy bar chime provide the same results without the smoke. Simply move through the space with the tingsha bells, sounding them slowly. Work your way around the room, taking care to reach all four corners as the clear tone dispels any residual emotional energy.

Toning With Tingsha Cymbals
The primary meditative use of tingsha bells is toning. Put simply, it involves using the bells to create a tone that clears the listener's mind. While the human voice can also accomplish this, the basic principle remains the same. When performed properly, toning affects both the mind and the body. Sound vibrations naturally penetrate the skin, providing a whole-body simultaneous internal and external massage.

On a mental level, toning with tingsha bells helps you find clarity as you focus on the sound of the bells. One of the hardest things for beginners to do is clear their mind for meditation. Every word you hear, or even thought you have, can be a distraction. By placing all your attention on one thing, the sound from the bells, you can drive out the distractions that would otherwise prevent meditation. In this case, the lack of words is a definite feature.

Caring for Tingsha Cymbals
As with any other tool, whether meditative or physical, it is important to care for your tingsha bells. However, the spiritual and emotional dimension means that you have to do more than simply keep them free of damage. The best way to store them is in a tingsha bell case. Usually made from felt and brocade, these carriers not only protect the tingsha bells, they also help you keep your mind on their real purpose. After all, if all you can think about is the condition of your tingsha bells, it can be very hard to clear your mind for meditation. Keep them in good condition, and keep your focus on mental questions.
