What is Puer Tea? 

Pu-erh tea (also commonly known as 'puer,' 'pu'er,' 'po lei' and 'bolay' tea) is originated thousands of years ago  in the Yunnan Province of China, where large-leaf tea trees (Dayeh) grow. Its history relates closely to the tea  trade between  China and other nations (notably Tibet), and it is named for the town from which it was originally  sold en route to other countries (Pu'er City). 

Puer is found in two broad categories: Ripe Puer and Raw Pu'er.

Pu Erh Tea is one of the Yunnan Specialty. According to the processing craft, there is a differentiation of cooked

/ripe(shu) and raw(sheng) types.The shu type refers to those varieties that have gone through  an accelerated 

post-fermentation process,while the sheng types are those in the process of gradual darkening through

exposure to the environmental elements.

Brew Guide:

· First, pour  in boiling water  until overflow slightly. This is for rinsing the water and not for drinking.

· Pour out the water.

· Then use boiling water to brew the tea, about 2-5g per time.

· Usually can brew about 2-5 times.

Storage:

Unlike other teas that should ideally be consumed shortly after production, puerh can be drunk immediately or aged 

for many years; puerh teas are often now classified by year and region of production much like wine vintages.

· Puer tea has also been lauded as the “drinkable antique”. The flavor and color of Puer Tea changes when properly 

  stored over a period of time; 

· fresh raw tea brews into a bright, yellowish broth and possesses a strong, almost harsh flavor; 

· aged raw tea brews an amber broth and possesses a mellow flavor. 

· The flavor, quality and value of Puer tea constantly increases over time with proper storage,and the longer the better.
