Bi-metal Thermostat Coil

Main application:

    The main application of bi-metal thermostat spiral for heating chamber or silicone oil fan clutch lies in its sensitivity for temperature change, and they are also used in controlling devices in automobiles.

Principle of operation:  

    Thermostatic bimetal consists of two or more metallic layers bonded together and they have different thermal expansion. When heated up, it bends in a pre-determined manner and can be used to control the fan by regulating the silicone oil fan clutch.

    Bi-metal can also be manufactured as disc, stripe, coil or spiral material with very small tolerances which give a snap action at a given.
