The Precision Twist EB3302M series of end mills are a regular length, ball nose, two flutes are made of carbide with a bright finish is used for high speed machining of curved surfaces and best performance in steel (not hardened), cast iron, stainless steel and copper.
Ball nose end mills have a smooth geometry of the cutting tip, which facilitates lower cutting forces, giving the cutter added strength under pressure. They can also produce radii in the bottom of slots or pockets for added strength, reducing stress concentrations.
Two flute end mills are generally used for cutting slots or groves. The two flute design offers a large chip space, easy chip ejection, and a lower quality of surface finish.
End mills are tools with cutting teeth on the sides and on one (single ended) or both ends (doubled ended). The teeth may be parallel to the axis of rotation or helical, and commonly are called spiral end mills. The shape of the end might be square or round. Some end mills are center cutting, which allow for boring into a work piece like a drill bit.
