Shape Of Flap disc:
Flap discs are broken down into flat and angle face. Following grinding wheel terminology flat discs are type 27 while angle discs are type 29. Typical angle faced flap wheels are about 10°. Angle faced discs are more aggressive and are more suited to stock removal while flat faced discs are better on flat surfaces and will produce a more consistent finish.
Density Of Flap disc:
Flap discs are available in regular and high density. High density discs, often called jumbo discs, have more flaps and are thicker. Jumbo discs tend to be a little softer and are therefore not as aggressive. Jumbo discs will last longer due to the extra abrasive.
Advantages of Flap disc:

3.Cool cutting permits light contouring and prevents burning
4. Flap disc with Longer life: Withstands wear up to 10 to 20 times longer than conventional fibre discs due to overlapping flap construction
5.Aggressive removal of metal for flap disc. Equal to Type 27 depressed center wheels with greater safety (does not require tool safety guard)
6.Consistent performance as new granules are continually exposed during the life of the product
7.One-step grind and finish reduces down time and finishing costs
8.Grinding angle of conical shape provides optimum contact between work piece and disc surface
9.Tough construction allows for aggressive edge grinding
