Tongyeong is located in Kyeongsangnam-Do, southern part of the Republic Korea and consists of many islands.
Tongyeong was designated as Korean first marine national park on the basis of the beautiful scenery enough to be called the East Naples.
Rias coast which have severe curvature of the coastlines and adequate water temperature based on warm current of Korean East Sea are much influenced on the development of fisheries in Tonngyeong.
