Carbon vanes are important elements in dry running rotary and vacuum pumps as well as in wet vane-type pumps while liquids being pumped have poor lubricating features.Owing to the low specific density of carbon material, the specific contact pressure exerted by the vane can be kept to a low level thus influencing vane life favorably.
