Some introduction about lighting physiological functions:


Far red light

The far red intensity and R/FR are important for photomorphogenesis such as plant height,internode.When the value of R/FR is higher,the internodal length becomes lower,resulting in plant dwarf.The ratio change is also related to axillary dud differentiation,chlorophyll content,stomatal index and lead area.Far red light decreases 40% anthocyanin,11% carotenoid and 14% chlorophyll,increasing 28% fresh weight,15% dry weight,14% stem length,44% leaf length and 15% leaf width.

UV light

The light with wavelength below 380nm is called UV light.The band 320~380nm is for UV-A,280~320nm for UV-B and 100~280nm for UV-C.95% UV reaching the ground is UV-A.UV and far infrared keep the regulation for the growth.UV light reduces leaf area,inhibits hypocotyls elongation,weakens photosynthesis and makes plant easier to be attacked by pathogen.However,it induces flavonoid.What’s more,low UV-B environment plant experiences excessive growth and pigment synthesis disorder.Plant factory lacks UV-A and UV-B.To keep a balanced UV dosage is helpful for plant growth there.
