The composite brake beam, a right hand or left hand orientation, is for railway wagons. It is positioned in the bogie to accommodate force during braking. The brake head is connected to an adaptor which allows the brake head and shoe to float and accommodate wheel wear or the misalignment of the brake beam and wheel set.
