Description
Peanut, also known as groundnut is a crop of global importance. It is widely grown in the tropics and sub-tropics, being important to both smallholder and large commercial producers. It is classified as both a grain legume,and, because of its high oil content, an oil crop.
The most primitive method of shelling is by hands. However, it is quite time consuming and low output. A peanut sheller is a machine used to remove kernels from the shell by breaking or splitting the pods. Peanut shelling can not be performed while harvesting, until the percentage of moisture reduced to a certain extent.
