Thresher is a machine used for detached grains from the harvested crop and separate clean threshed grain from the chaff, without much lost and damage.
Traditional threshing methods followed by farmers involved trampling of crop under feet, beating of shelves of rice or wheat crop on hard slant surface, beating crop with a flail, treading a layer of 15 to 20 cm thick harvested crop by a team of animals. These traditional methods are not only time consuming and involves drudgery but they have poor efficiency and have very low output. With introduction of mechanical power thresher, the drugdery of the operator was reduced and it gave higher output per unit time.
