Description
Hook consists mainly of the bail, the bail pedestal, cylindrical shell, hook body, hook lever, and spring, etc. The inner and outer springs are mounted inside the cylindrical shell, which enable stand to upspring after it is free.
A Safety positioning device is mounted upper the cylindrical shell. The positioning device can prevent the hook body from rotating when the empty elevator is hoisted. The positioning device will not work when the drill string is hanging. The hook body can rotate freely.
Hook’s braking device can lock the hook body at any eight even distributed position.
Hook’s safety pin body is locked by locking mechanism too.
A hydraulic cushion device is mounted inside the rotary hook to protect the drill pipe joint during brake-out.
A reliable safety device is mounted at the mouth of hook.
The nondestructive inspection (NDI) was conducted against the main loaded component of hook.
