1, The product is fed in through a fixed inlet on a removable top cover, which remains stationary. This hopper, when fully rotated in one direction, places one of the filling outlets directly under the product feed, whilst the other outlet is positioned over a takeaway conveyor. When the machine rotates through 90 degrees, it then places the opposing filling outlet underneath the product flow, and the opposite filling head is then positioned over the takeaway conveyor. As this rotation occurs, the product flow changes from one outlet to the other. In technical terms, the operator enters the desired bag weight to be packed through a touch screen. The bags are then clamped on the filling heads and the product feed is started.
2, Production then flows into the bag at the rear of the machine until approximately 80 percent of the finished bag weight has registered.
3, There is a Servo Drive controlling the rotation of the machine which has a positional accuracy of around one millimetre and is controlled via an analogue output from the machine's PLC. The PLC is receiving an input directly from the load cell of the bag being weighed and relays this to the Servo Drive which is rotating the machine so that the product flow will cut off at the exact weigh required.
4,As the machine rotates, it divides the flow to provide a dribble feed to finishi off the weight of one bag while delivering the rest of the flow of material to the next bag being filled. This dribble feed ratio is infinitely adjustable to achieve the desired accuracy. This weighing off action requires no augers, gates or valves, but simply diverts the flow of product from one bag to the next.
