Brief Introduction of Foam Glass(Cellular Glass)

Foam glass (cellular glass) is a new kind of inorganic heat insulating material with a structure of various equally closed cells. It is an ecological and nontoxic material mainly made of recycled glass added with adequate foaming agents, heating and foaming in high-temperature tunnel furnace, then annealing, cooling and cutting. Because it is made of inorganic glass, it has stable chemical properties with features of incombustibility, vapor impermeability, no mildew, no erosion, no deformation, no water absorption, and no damage by rats, etc. As it’s numerous pores structure, it has low density and low thermal conductivity. Foam glass can be used in -268° C to 480° C, and it’s working life is longer than the building. So it is praised as “permanent heat insulating material with no need of renewal” .
