Introduction:
Rotary kiln is composed of drum, driving unit, support unit, end seal unit, end shield and fuel unit. The shell fabricated from high-quality steel plate is supported on the supporting device of sliding bearing or rolling bearing. Mechanical or hydraulic thrust roller is installed on the support unit to control axial moving. The driving unit makes the drum rotate through the girth gear in the middle of the drum. To meet the need of installation and maintenance, the bigger kiln have auxiliary driving unit. The ends of kiln are provided with sealing unit to prevent cool air into the kiln and fuel dust out of kiln.
Application:
Rotary kiln can be used in chemical, construction, cement, environmental protection, metallurgy, ceramics, lime, refractories, metakaolin, titanium dioxide, alumina, vermiculite and many other industries
Cement Rotary Kiln:
Cement kilns are used for the pyroprocessing stage of manufacture of Portland and other types of hydraulic cement, in which calcium carbonate reacts with silica-bearing minerals to form a mixture of calcium silicates. Over a billion tonnes of cement are made per year, and cement kilns are the heart of this production process: their capacity usually defines the capacity of the cement plant. As the main energy-consuming and greenhouse-gas–emitting stage of cement manufacture.
Lime Rotary Kiln:
A lime kiln is used to produce quicklime through the calcination of limestone (calcium carbonate). The chemical equation for this reaction is
CaCO3 + heat → CaO + CO2
This reaction takes place at 900 °C (at which temperature the partial pressure of CO2 is 1 atmosphere), but a temperature around 1000 °C (at which temperature the partial pressure of CO2 is 3.8 atmospheres[1]) is usually used to make the reaction proceed quickly.[2] Excessive temperature is avoided because it produces unreactive, "dead-burned" lime.
