2. Type of ropes
2.1 Type of ropes: Dynamic Ropes, Static Ropes, Fire-fighting Ropes, Military Ropes and Accessory Cords
2.1.1 Dynamic Ropes:
Dynamic ropes includes single rope, half rope and twin rope. It is made up of 48 strands; it can absorb impact force when falling; you must use the dynamic rope if there is rush falling, such as climbing, mountaineering, bungee jumping etc. The dynamic rope usually has various colors.
2.1.2 Static Ropes:
The elongation of static rope is less than 10%; it can’t be used in fast rappelling. The inner core is of same technology with dynamic rope. Cover has 32 strands, it has thicker cover than dynamic rope which protects inner core greatly. Static rope used for caving, river trekking, height work, fire-fighting protection and military, but not for climbing. Static rope usually has single color.
2.1.3 Fire-fighting Ropes:
It is used for rescuing or training. It is made up of Kevlar material with features of fire-proof, durable abrasion resistant, good anti-cutting performance and high strength.
2.1.4 Military Ropes:
It is used for outdoor survival and battle training. It is designed for special forces rappelling from helicopter and usually using together with static rope.
2.1.5 Accessory Cords:
It is used as assistant rope when climbing, mainly used for packing and fixing etc. Diameters are from 2mm to 8mm.
