Fiter Screens:

The filter screens are readily accessible for easy removal and cleaning. This line

of filters includes a manual flush cap for easy flushing or removal of particles trapped

in the bottom of the filter.

Screen filters are the most common filters used in the irrigation industry and in

most cases the least expensive. They are generally used as a backup for any type of

drip irrigation installation and are mainly installed where the quality of water is good.

Screen filters are excellent for removing hard particulates from water, such as sand

and other small elements often found in city water. The screen filters are not suitable

for removing organic materials such as algae, mold and slime. These non-solid materials

tend to embed themselves into the screen material where they are very difficult to remove.

In other cases they simply slide through the holes in the screen by temporarily deforming

their shape.Screen filters are cleaned by removing cover and hand cleaning the screen.

Application:

All irrigation systems require proper maintenance, and drip irrigation or micro irrigation

systems are no exceptions. The major cause of most drip irrigation system failures is clogging

of drip emitters and micro sprinklers, therefore, a screen filter installed before the pressure

regulator is the most important component in the micro irrigation system. The pipe thread

plastic screen filters are simple to install and are an economical method to protect a drip

irrigation system by preventing such clogging. Periodically the filter screen need to be

cleaned by opening the filter cover, removing the screen, and rinsing the screen under water.

Filter Disc:

The disc filter may be used wherever organic materials, sand, or sediments are present

in the water source.  Unlike screen filters, disk filters consist of stacked round discs with small

grooves on each side,  compressed together to create a three dimensional filtration body with a

series of channels that trap the debris that can damage the irrigation system. When water flows

through the disc filter, organic materials and sediment accumulate along the outside diameter of

the disc element. As this occurs, there is a drop in pressure between the incoming water and the

downstream water exiting the filter, forcing organic matter and debris into the disc channels until

stopped. If used with low water quality and not cleaned in time, the filter will develop a fixed

pressure on the inlet side of the filter and a zero pressure on the outlet side, assuring that

regardless of the type of water used, water flow will be essentially stopped, and dirty water will

not enter the irrigation system.

Application:

All irrigation systems require proper maintenance, and drip irrigation systems are no

exception. The major cause of most drip irrigation system failures is clogging of drip emitters

and micro sprinklers, therefore, a disc or screen filter installed before the pressure regulator is

the most important component in the micro irrigation system. The pipe thread plastic disc filters

are simple to install and are an economical method to protect a drip irrigation system by preventing

such clogging. Periodically the discs need to be cleaned by opening the filter cover, removing the

disc elements, and rinsing the disc under water.
