1 From birth
SMA's First Infant Milk. SMA's best alternative to breast milk, from birth onwards when baby is not breastfed. Breastfeeding provides the best start for your baby but if you decide not to, or to combination feed, choose SMA First Infant Milk, nutritionally complete with Omega 3 & 6 LCPs.
2 From 6 months +
SMA Follow-on Milk, to complement the weaning diet, from 6 months +. A follow-on milk providing the important nutrients your growing baby needs, Omega 3 & 6, iron and vitamin D. Iron helps brain development and vitamin D supports growth of bones and teeth. Nutrients are delivered in a smaller volume than infant formula so your baby still has an appetite for food. Use as part of a mixed weaning diet.
3 From 1-3 years
SMA Toddler Milk for active toddlers, from 1-3 years. A fortified milk drink specifically developed to help provide the important nutrients your young child needs, such as Omega 3 & 6, iron and vitamin D. Iron is important to help support brain development. SMA Toddler Milk contains 40x more iron than cows' milk. Use as part of a healthy balanced diet.
A 200ml serving of SMA toddler milk provides % RDA: Iron 30%, Zinc 37%, Vitamin A 35%, Vitamin C 53%, Vitamin D 43%. Contains Omega 3 & 6.
Recommended Daily Allowances (RDA) is the amount of vitamins and minerals required per day by young children to help meet all their daily nutritional requirements.

Preparation
Feeding guide 1 - 3 years
1 Beaker - Amount of water: 180 ml, 6 fl.oz. (approx.); Number of scoops of powder: 6
6 scoops of powder added to 180 ml (6 fl.oz. approx.) water makes 200 ml (7 fl.oz. approx.) milk drink. One 200 ml serving of SMA Toddler Milk provides up to 50% of the RDA of key nutrients and can be used alongside cows' milk and other dairy foods as part of a healthy balanced diet. All young children have different nutritional needs, but after 12 months we recommend your child has around 500 ml of milk per day. You can feed your child up to 3 servings a day of SMA Toddler Milk depending on their individual nutritional needs.
Mix 1 scoop of powder to 30 ml (approx. 1 fl. oz.) of water.
Preparing your toddler's drink
Whilst this product is made under strict hygienic conditions, it is not sterile. Failure to follow instructions on preparation and storage may make your child ill.
1. Wash hands well. Ensure toddler's beaker is fully cleaned.
2. Boil kettle filled with fresh tap water. Allow boiled water to cool for no more than 30 minutes before measuring 180 ml (approx. 6 fl. oz. ) of water into a beaker, carefully - the water is hot. Do not use artificially softened water or repeatedly boiled water.
3. Using the scoop provided in this can, add 6 scoops of powder, levelling off each scoop with the handy built-in leveller in the can. Replace plastic lid on can.
4. Place a lid on the beaker and shake well. Cool beaker under cold running water until lukewarm. Test temperature by shaking a few drops onto the inside of your wrist.
Important Feeding Information
Do not add extra powder or water to make feeds stronger or weaker and do not press powder into scoop. Using too much or too little powder could make your toddler ill.
We recommend preparing each milk drink in individual beakers when required.
Made-up SMA Toddler Milk can be poured over cereals and mixed with food.
Never add food to the milk in your child's beaker.
Do not warm milk drinks in a microwave oven as this may cause uneven heating and could scald your child's mouth.
Cow's milk contains virtually no iron.
Good dental hygiene is as important for toddlers as it is for older children and adults. Prolonged or frequent contact of drink or feeds with the teeth e.g. from using beakers as comforters, increases the risk of tooth decay. In accordance with normal dental hygiene, your child's teeth should be cleaned after the last feed at night. Ask your healthcare professional or dentist for advice.
