Vermiculite Application
1. Horticulture, Soil Conditioner
Vermiculite is well established as a growing medium. It is most commonly used in compost formulations, usually in combination with peat or coir.
2. Construction Insulation Fireproof Materials
Vermiculite widely used in Nuclear waste disposal, Board, lightweight concrete, Perfume absorbent, Insulation blocks & shapes, Insulation - high & low temperature,filtration, Fireproof Safes, Paints, Sealants, Mould products etc.
3. Animal Feeds additive, Egg incubator, Reptile
Vermiculite in a refined form is used in animal feedstuffs. The free-flowing, soft, absorbent Vermiculite is an outstanding support material for carrying a wide range of nutrients.
Some of the properties and advantages of Vermiculite which are useful in animal feedstuffs are:
- Low Dioxins and Furans (fluoride)
- Low bulk density
- Soft free-flowing material
- High liquid absorption
- Simplifies mixing of otherwise difficult materials
