- Product description
Seabuckthorn is a collective name for the plant and its fruit. Belonging to Elaeagnaceae Hippophae, it is a deciduous shrub with characteristics such as drought tolerance, anti-sandstorm, and the ability to survive salinized land, so it is widely used for soil and water conservation. It is distributed in the north, northwest, southwest and other places of China. Seabuckthorn is a medicinal and edible plant. Seabuckthorn’s root, stem, leaf, flower, fruit (especially, fruit is rich in nutrients and bioactive substances) can be widely used in many areas of the national economy, e.g. food, medicine, light industry, aerospace, agriculture, animal husbandry and fishery. Seabuckthorn’s fruit is medicinally effective in treating cough and phlegm, appetite and digestion, and blood stasis. Modern medical research shows that seabuckthorn can lower cholesterol, relieve angina attack, prevent and treat coronary atherosclerotic heart disease.
Extensive studies by research institutions and medical institutions in many countries show seabuckthorn have unique effects for nutrition and health by providing rich ingredients, that is, 80 to 150mm VC per 100g of fresh fruit (5-8 times kiwi, 70 times hawthorn, 80 times tomato, and 200 times grape), a very high content of carotenes, VE, and more than 80% unsaturated fatty acids.
