The way to make wood charcoal
Almost any biomass can be briquetted. Saw Dust, Bamboo dust, Bagasse, Cotton Stalk, Coffee husk,
Groundnut Shell, Mustard Husk/Stalk, Pine Needles,Rice Husk, Sugar Mill Waste, Jute waste, Coir
pith and other wastes & residues like Castor Shell, RedGram Stalk, Tobacco stem, Tea Waste, Sander
Dust, Tree Bark, Wild Grasses & Shrubs and Sanderdust etc. can be also be briquetted individually
or in combination without using any binder.
1. Chipping&Cushing:
Cushing machine prepare suitable size raw material for biomass briquetting plant. The required size for
briquetting is 3 to5mm. if the raw material with larger size, and the raw material should be chipped by the
wood chipper first, then crushing the small shippers to sawdust.
2.Drying:
Drying machine prepare suitable moisture raw material for biomass briquette press.Moisture of the
raw material is important for making good briquettes. The proper moisture of the raw material should
be 8-12%.If raw material has high moisture it should be reduced by Sun drying or using the dryer for
drying.
3.Briquetting:
Biomass briquette machine can process the raw material to briquettes with different shapes and diameter.
Briquettes are made by grinding Biomass and sawdust into a homogeneous pulp and forming this into a
briquette under very high pressure. High pressure & pressing releases one of the natural components of
wood -lignin which has the property of becoming liquid at high pressure (temperature) and, as it
subsequently cools, it binds the wood together in its new form Briquettes.
Semi-finished product: briquette stick
After the processing of drying, compressing under the high pressure and temperature, the biomass briquette
is characterized by high density, small in size, better combustion, capable as the substitute for the superior
coal or firewood. This bio-fuel briquette is 30-80mm in diameter, occurs in the hollow quadrangular
or hexagonal cylinder or hollow hexagonal with a 15-20mm hole through the body.
4.Carbonizing :
The semi-finished product can be used as fuel, however, if you want to change the semi-finished product
the charcoal, we should put the semi-finished product to the carbonization stove,and after 6-24hours
carbonizing , the chemical structure of the wood briquette will be changed by the high-temperature,
and after long time heating, changing and decomposing, then we will get the black charcoal, combustible
gas,and wood tar.
