Fused magnesium aluminum spinel is produced by mixing the industrial alumina with the purity no less than 98.5% and the caustic-burned magnesia with the purity no less than 96% and an appropriate amount of high purity magnesite , and smelting with high temperature in the electric arc furnaces.
 
If is characterized by high temperature resistance, high density, low water absorption, low thermal expansion coefficient, good thermal stability, and strong corrosion resistance.
 
it is used in iron and steel smelting, cement rotary kiln and glass furnace.
