In Pharma as active pharmaceutical ingredients, Antacids, drying agent(desiccant), color retention agent(color fixative), medicine carrier, anti-caking agent Magnesium carbonate is used in foods as an alkali, drying agent, color retention agent, carrier and anti-caking agent. It is also used in food and beverage processing as a filter aid and clarifying agent. The magnesium carbonate used as a good fillers and reinforcing agents for rubber products. It can be used as thermal insulation, heat resisting fire proofing and insulation materials. It can also be used in the manufacture of advanced glass products, magnesium salts, pigments, paints and daily chemicals. In sport, Magnesium carbonate, most often referred to as 'chalk', is used as a drying agent for hands in rock climbing, gymnastics, and weight lifting. MgCO3 is also used in flooring, fireproofing, fire extinguishing compositions, cosmetics, dusting powder, and toothpaste. In addition, high purity magnesium carbonate is used as antacid and as an additive in table salt to keep it free flowing
