IQF bamboo shoot slice
1) General Description:
Product name : Bamboo shoots slices IQF
Variety : Dendrocalamus latiflorus or Phyllostachys pubescens. Only the centre and the bottom part of the shoots are acceptable, the fibrous outercircle of the shoots is not acceptable.
Smell : Characteristic neutral bamboo smell without strong bamboo chemical off smell.
Taste : Characteristic neutral bamboo taste, not bitter, without strong bamboo chemical off flavour.
Organoleptic : Crispy, firm, not sticky
Appearance : Light yellow, nearly white
2) Definitions:
Lumps : more than 3 pieces clumped together
Broken pieces : length and width are less than half of the standard requirements
Minor discolouration : black spots, dark brown colour of between 3-6mm in length, tint of pink, discolouration of tissue (due to prolong storage or cooking)
Major discolouration : black spots, dark brown colour of over 6mm in length
3) Size:
Cutting size:Thickness: 1/10" - 1/7".Lenght: 1 1/4" - 3/4".
Width: 3/8" - 5/8",thickness 4mm,width 12mm,length 30-50mm
4) Tolerances:
Driploss : max 2% by weight
Lumps : max 5 per 1000gram
Minor discolouration : max 50 pieces per 1000gr
Major discolouration : max 25 pieces per 1000gr
Broken pieces : max 5% by weight
Metal/glass/plastic/stone/wood/sand/soil or any other FMV/EVM: Non-existence.
5)Contamination:
pesticides, fungicides, metals, mycotoxines, radioactivity, according to EEC regulations and China National Standards.
Microbiology: NO apparent disease.
Storage and transporting: cleanly stored and transported at or under temperature of minus 18 degrees centigrade (DC).
