Description:
Soy Beta-Sitosterol is one of several phytosterols (plant sterols) with chemical structures similar to that of cholesterol that can be derived from soybeans. It might help reduce cholesterol levels by limiting the amount of cholesterol that is able to enter the body. It can also bind to the prostate to help reduce swelling (inflammation).
Soy has been a main food in Asian countries for many years. This is because they are very nutritious: they contain about 36% protein, 18% fat, 30% carbohydrates, isoflavones and a lot of minerals and vitamins. All eight essentials amino acids are present in the soybean, which makes the soybean protein a complete protein.

Funtion:
1. High cholesterol
Taking beta-sitosterol significantly lowers total and bad (LDL) cholesterol levels, but it does not raise good (HDL) cholesterol levels;
2. Benign prostatic hyperplasia
Improving the symptoms of BPH, but it does not actually shrink an enlarged prostate;
3. Immunomodulatory effects
Initial studies have shown that β-sitosterol can increase the proliferation of peripheral blood lymphocytes and enhance the cytotoxic effect of natural killer cells.
4. Anticancer properties
β-sitosterol has demonstrated effects on tumor cell lines in vitro. Growth is inhibited in human colon, prostate, and breast cancer cell lines. It has been postulated that cell death (apoptosis) is initiated, probably by activation of the protein phosphatase A2 pathway.
