The disintegration test is performed on the tablets by moving them up and down in water kept at 37°C. Built in a MS cabinet which houses a geared motor that moves the vertical shaft up and down by 7.5 cms at a speed of 30 dips per minute. On the upper end of the shaft is fillted a horizontal strip with a clamp. This clamp holds a glass vessel open at both ends with SS wire gauge and rubber rings at the lower end. This glass vessel dips in water when the instrument starts working. A thermostatically controlled hot plate is fitted on top of the cabinet. It holds a glass beaker of 1000ml filled with water. Temperature is maintained at 37°C. Available in single and double basket. |
