Botanists call it: It is referred to as Cymbopogon winterianus jowitt or Cymbopogon winterianus.

Form: It is thin and runny fluid obtained when extracted.
Scent: It smells more woody, stronger and sweeter than a well-rounded Lemon Citrus odor.
Shade and Appearance: Depending upon the extraction variables and environmental factors, this oil may appear as light Yellow or as shining sun-like Deep and dark Yellow to a dawn-like Brown.
Chemical constituents: Citronellic acid, Borneol, Citronellol, Geraniol, Nerol, Citral, Citronellal, Camphene, 2-Pentene and Limonene form the ‘composition brigade’ of this oil.
Extraction method: Citronella oil is obtained from finely sliced and fresh grass - dried or part-dried by the means of steam distillation method.
Gels well with: It makes a good ‘Gel-friend’ with Bergamot, Bitter Orange, Cedarwood, Geranium, Lemon, Orange, Lavender and Pine oils.
