While there are many methods to eliminate unwanted hair, very few can eliminate hair regrowth while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged. And laser remove is quickly becoming the most popular. 808nm diode laser technology, unlike earlier systems, energy penetrates deep into the dermis (where the hair follicle is located) with high average power and a rapid 10 pulse-per-second repetition rate. Lasers use the principle of selective photothermolysis to eliminate hair and its potential regrowth without damaging the surrounding skin. During a laser hair removal treatment, light passes through the skin and is absorbed by the melanin in the hair shaft. This absorption raises the temperature of the hair follicle and thermally destroys the cells responsible for regrowth. The attributes of the laser (wavelength, pulse duration and power) are chosen to ensure damage to these cells and not to the rest of the skin.

1. Does it Comfortable or safe?

2. Is it suitable for everyone?
At CALM LASER Center we customize the treatment to exactly match your hair and skin type. The ideal skin type for laser is anywhere from a skin type 1-3 as well as some people that fit into the skin type 4 category. In order for the laser to work the hair must have pigment. Laser does not work on blonde or fine hair.
3. How many treatments will I need?
Laser hair removal destroys hairs that are in the active growth stage (Anagen), so repeat treatments will be needed to target hair that was not affected at the previous treatments. You will need anywhere from 3-6 treatments to get the optimum results that you want to achieve.
4. What results can I expect?
After doing a series of 3-6 treatments you can expect a growth reduction in the targeted hairs. For some people it will be necessary due to hormonal or other changes to come in once every 3 or 6 months for a 15 or 30 minute clean up of patches.
5. How long before I see results?
You will see some results immediately. It takes a week or two for all of the hair in the treated area to fall out. After that, you will experience several weeks of no growth in the treated area. So you’re receiving immediate gratification while you are moving toward your long-term goal.
